Untitled DocumentVictorian Children's Brown Tweed Herringbone Twill Wool Boys Waistcoat Vest
This antique Victorian Civil War era children's brown tweed herringbone twill wool boys waistcoat vest dates from the 1860s. It is hand stitched, made of brownish gray and blue striped tweed woven herringbone twill pattern wool fabric. There is a brown silk damask weave brocade fabric backing with a woven diamond pattern. This dapper child's boys waistcoat vest has four front pockets, buttons for closure down the front and is fully lined in white cotton fabric. The vest measures 14 inches long, with a 24 inch chest and 22 inch waist. It is in good as-is condition, with some fraying on the brown silk fabric near the neck shoulder area (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of early antique Victoriana children's wearable art!
