  • Condition: Condition: this is pre-owned and old. But I see no chips or fleabites on the rim or on the base. However there is a couple of checks/fractures at the top of one handles which is commonly referred to as Heat checks or stress checks and are common unfortunately. The handle is attached- but I would not hold it by the handle though. With the handle damage it will display well still so we are offering it at a huge discount.

    Description

    This is an Antique "Spooner" Spoon Holder in a loving cup shape. These are kind of hard to find and quite collectible.
    This is 4-3/4" tall by 6-1/4" long with handles, by 3-1/2" wide top rim.
    It is from the American brilliant period, (late 1800's to 1915).  Which is over 100 years old now!
    This has the Large 16-point hobstars with crosshatching and fans above and below the hobstars.  The sides of the hobstar motif have vertical zipper notched miters.  The handles  are applied and have the punties/ facet cuts.  The stem is sleek and smooth with a rayed star cut base....
    I did find this exact pattern spooner in one old archive that says it went for 168.49 in auction back on march 5, 2013 on this site. But I have not found another like it.
