    Description

Here is an official souvenir viewbook from the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. Robert A. Reid, San Francisco, CA. 1915. Soft cover.
The Panama–Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) was a world's fair held in San Francisco, in the United States, between February 20 and December 4 in 1915. Its ostensible purpose was to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal, but it was widely seen in the city as an opportunity to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake. The fair was constructed on a 635 acre site in San Francisco, along the northern shore now known as the Marina District. An extensive historical photographic record of classic-style architectural buildings, only one of which survives today (The Palace of Fine Arts p.17). Oblong 9 ½” x 12 ½” and 40 pages. The covers do have some general wear and rough edges. Internally clean.
