Description
Price is per side, with heavy discount if you need both. Or want to buy an extra pair as well. Unfortunately, discount for buying multiple does not apply if shipping is overseas. If you buy 1, and don't specify a color or side, I'll assume LEFT (American driver side) in silver(like the main pictures show)
If you buy 2, and don't specify a color, I'll assume silver. I cannot provide beige. Color choices are silver or black.
Part comes with flap and 2 clips. GENERALLY, the parts will be held together with a thin amount of plastic. This helps in shipping, and can be torn away from the parts by hand, easily. Sometimes, it will come in the mail, separated.
This is a replacement roof flap for Mercedes SL R230. They break off and you can't just buy the flap from Mercedes.
These flaps are not a direct replacement, they are designed with new hinges which are attached to the original corner piece.
Fabric not included. Spring not included. Pin not included. This is only the plastic flap and clips.
I inspect each piece for structural weaknesses before shipping them out, as well as watch them being made periodically, for the same purpose.
Install this at your own risk. This is a DIY project. I have had dozens of customers successfully install this, and be happy customers, with some repeat customers.
DO NOT LET YOUR CAR SIT IN THE SUN. These are made of thernoplastics that can buckle in heat.
This fix DOES work. Because I do not know your individual DIY abilities, item is sold with a NO REFUND and NO RETURN policy as well as without a warranty.
You will have to procure the other parts necessary. All I do is make these, and send them out. If you don't have the pin, google cotter pins. You can find them as well as torsion springs, at Lowe's or Home Depot. Or McMaster Carr.
The machines these are made with are precise to a point. Same with the filament that it gets made with. Within 0.01-0.03mm, but there are tolerances. If the stock pin does not fit through the holes of the flaps, without excessive force, try heating up the end of the pin with a lighter for 3-8 seconds. The plastic these are made of is meant to heat up and expand. Do NOT hold the lighter to the flap/hinges. Apply to the pin and push it through the flap/hinges.
Everything I sell is made to order. And as such, you are NOT JUST BUYING A PRODUCT but buying my maintenance time on a 3d printer and paying for its use. Other products I sell can take upwards of 30 to 40 hours to finish. And if I'm behind on prints, I'm behind on prints. Any potential mishaps that happen during a print will cause me to start all over. If a print fails due to hardware issues, I might have to order hardware before I can try an order again. This can take some time.
