Description

Compared to 2012, the Montepulciano region had a 10-day delay in vegetation due to a cool and rainy spring. After a hot and dry August, September was cooler than average. The weather conditions prolonged the phase of phenological ripening of the Prugnolo Gentile. The ripening of the grapes happened gradually and in a balanced manner, which resulted in healthy grapes, aromatic and elegant in style. The La Braccesca estate has 936 acres and is divided into two main blocks: the historical part of the estate which is situated in the Montepulciano area, and a newer block situated at the foot of the hills around Cortona.
A lively ruby red in color, the Vino Nobile 2014 offers aromas which range from ripe red fruit to spice and black pepper. On the palate the wine is supple and elegant with crisp mineral notes which are characteristic of its grape varieties and its terroir. Soft on the finish, it shows the excellent ripeness which the Sangiovese (locally known as Prugnolo Gentile) grapes attained in this vintage.
