    HISTORY/MARKS:
Thomas P. Strittmatter, a Philadelphia businessman, established Liberty Cut Glass Works in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey in 1902.  The company specialized in silver tinged, finely cut glass.  This type of glass was very poplar from the 1890’s to 1920’s.  By the teen’s, the company employed 250 workers producing many elaborately cut patterns.  Liberty eventually built its own furnaces allowing it to produce several different colored glasses.  The company closed in 1932 after fire damaged most of the factory and due to the economic depression they did not rebuild.
