PEARSON (Vol. 3 p.247-250) rates the
Libbey CORINTHIAN pattern as :
Rarity = 5 (Rare)
and
Quality/Price Range = 5 (High Priced)
This measures approximately
7 3/8" tall with stopper
5 1/2" tall without stopper
4" diameter bulb
3 1/4" Spout to handle
A beautiful patten that will certainly grace any table or
your prized collection of American Brilliant Cut Glass.
The pattern history:
This is an early 1901 to 1905 LIBBEY pattern.
This is a pattern of CAKE hobstars, double miters,
strawberry cuts, and FANS.
An early WC Anderson pattern
Signed Libbey with saber underneath
The condition:
Cut on a clear white blank.
I do not see or feel and flea bites.
NO HEAT CHECKS
A few faint scuff marks.
The inside looks very clean without stain.
I have not cleaned it.
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL
I would state that this Libbey saber signed CORINTHIAN CRUET is
Excellent condition.
TRIPLE-NOTCHE handle
However, I
Believe
that the stopper and bottle may be a marriage
because I can't find the number 17 that is etched on the upper neck of the cruet.
It fits well and it clear but can't say it is the original.
It is a RARELY seen style
Overall I may see two tiny flea bites in this 115 to 124 year old item.
Any questions? Please ask.
