    Description
    I just purchased this Nouveau art glass dresser jar from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece is characteristic of the designs produced in Bohemia (Moser) at the turn of the century. Similar examples were done in France but the unusual ball footed form is more typical of Bohemia circa 1900 - 1910. The hinged jar with ormolu mount is done in a deep Amethyst glass. The hand painted enamel work features flower and foliage in sapphire blue with rose pink dot highlights. The ground is covered in very fine gold scrolling, much of which at the shoulder is worn. The diminutive jar measures 3" high and 2 ¼" wide at the shoulder. The piece is in very good condition with repairs, two of the ball feet were at some point cleanly broken off and glued back. This unique balled form would make a nice addition to your collection of Antique Dresser Jars or Nouveau art glass.
