Stunning Airplane pattern Nippon green mark Morimura candlestick - 4 ½" high.As if the Airplane Pattern itself weren't scarce enough; the candlestick seems almost impossible to find. Circa 1910. Minor hairline crack on the lesser-designed side. The photos show the details.

Acquired at a recent sale of items from Sawada's personal collections.
Born in Japan in 1936, Sawada came to the United States in 1969, first settling in Seattle. It was there his career as an artist took root and he had the first one-man show of paintings.
Prior to coming to the USA, Sawada had followed college by being proprietor of an antique shop; specializing in Japanese porcelains and pottery.
He currently resides in Walla Walla, WA. He is the subject of the book,
