DID YOU KNOW ???
Nippon china and porcelain was made in Japan from 1891 to 1921.
Nippon china and porcelain was made to be exported to the west, with designs specifically for American tastes, and was less expensive than most European porcelain.
The Nippon era began in 1891 when the Japanese porcelain was clearly marked "Nippon" due to the McKinley Tariff Act.
This act required that all porcelain be marked with the country of origin.
"Nippon" literally translates to "Japan".
At that time, Japan had a thriving porcelain industry using methods used in Europe and the United States.
A few firms continued to use the word
Nippon
on ceramics after 1921 as a part of the company name more than as an identification of the country of origin.
In1921 the United States government changed its position and required that Japanese imports no longer be marked "Nippon", but with "Japan". This marks the end of the Nippon era.
Please Note:
Our photos are the most accurate and are an important part of the description and condition.
Most of our pictures are taken with a magnifying lens giving you a clear, close up photo.
This tends to also magnify minor flaws on items which many times cannot be seen on actual items.
Also, please check measurements given in listings as photos may make items appear larger than they actually are.
Condition:
Excellent condition with no cracks or repairs and very little, if any loss of paint
Bright vivid colors
Some of the gold is worn around the rims from use and age
This Set Must Be Seen To Be Appreciated
Maker's Mark:
Marked on the bottom in blue is the Nagoya Seito JE-OH maker's mark as shown in the next to last photo
