    Description

    Antique American Brilliant Period Cut Glass 8" Dish
    Up for auction is a beautiful antique American Brilliant Period cut glass dish or low bowl.
    It measures 8" in diameter by 2" deep.
    The blank is water-clear, a full 3/8" thick, and weighs in at 2-3/4 pounds.
    This pattern is shown on page 149 (Picture S 552) in "Identifying American Brilliant cut Glass".  It is identified as "Orleans" by Eggington or "Saxonia" by Empire.
    The dish is elaborately cut with complex hobstars surrounding a large central star framed by Gothic arches and triangles filled with super  fine-cut silver grating.
    There is a single polished-down tooth seen in the photo below.
    The dish is in otherwise excellent antique condition.
    Starting rock-bottom, and selling, as always, with No Reserve.
