I’m closing up my 87 year old, electrical engineer, father’s house. This is one of several cut glass pieces that belonged to his mother (my grandmother) that we used on Thanksgiving & Christmas and then put away for the rest of the year.
I don’t know anything about cut glass but I’ve read a few paragraphs on the internet so now I think I’m an expert…. ahem… please tell me if I get anything correct.
The American Cut Glass Association web site shows a Libbey (or Anderson) flat star center that looks just like the center of this dish. However, after scrolling through many many photos of cut glass on various sites trying to find one that looks like this one, I found a dealer on ebay who sold a dish that look very much like this one and he said it was signed Bergen. I don’t see any signature or marks on my dish so although it looks a lot like the Bergen I’m inclined to say it’s a Libbey due to the star design in the bottom.
I don’t see anything wrong with it. No broken bits, chips, cracks, repairs, leftover cranberry sauce, or alien dna. But I don’t know anything about glass so…. Look at the photos please.
No handling charge. Buyer pays actual shipping costs in the continental US.
I only ship once a week. Please do not expect this to arrive tomorrow. Particularly since the post office has gotten very erratic (and so have I).
International bidders will pay actual shipping costs which are shockingly, staggeringly, prohibitively expensive.
