    Description

This listing is for a special item from the
1915 Panama Pacific Expo - a STEEL ENGRAVING of the
AMERICAN EAGLE holding ARROWS, LIGHTENING AND OLIVE BRANCHES in its Claws
.  This engraving was done as a demonstration by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing at the 1915 Fair in conjunction with their production of the new Federal Reserve Notes of 1914.  Our paper currency was standardized as to size and the Bureau produced a number of demonstration engravings of vignettes that would appear on the backs of some of the paper currency.  The EAGLE print was representative of the World's Fair.  I am not a collector and do not know in this case if this image was used on any Federal Paper Currency.  The engraving is app. 7"x3" and the card measures 8½"x7".
